Frank A. Prieto, Esq.

Frank Prieto, Esq. opened the Law Offices of Frank Andrew Prieto, P.A., in 2007 and has quickly become one of South Florida’s premiere criminal defense lawyers. Mr. Prieto began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in 2001 and left his position as a prosecutor in the specialized narcotics trafficking unit in 2004. During his years as a prosecutor, Mr. Prieto gained comprehensive experience in the litigation of complex criminal enterprises, including narcotraffickers and organized retail theft. After 2004, Mr. Frank Prieto took his prosecutorial experience and applied it toward Maritime and Admiralty defense. His breadth of experience gives him the unique ability to approach issues from multiple points of view and always uncover an innovative solution to a particular legal challenge in both the criminal and civil arena.

During his time as a maritime defense attorney, Mr. Prieto successfully defended wrongful death cases, Death on the High Seas Act, personal injury claims, seaman’s Jones Act claims, product liability and other forms of complex federal litigation.

In 2007, Mr. Prieto made the leap and began his own private practice concentrated in the area of criminal defense. Mr. Prieto focuses his practice in the areas of narcotics trafficking, and organized crime cases at both the federal and state levels. These cases involve international drug trafficking organizations (DTO’s) and also Organized Retail Crimes (ORC) cases that range from theft of pharmacy products, clothing retail theft rings, counterfeit cigar manufacturing, and more recently, Medicare and Medicaid fraud.

Mr. Prieto also boasts an exemplary academic resumé. He is a 2001 graduate, with honors, of the University of Miami School of Law (Cum Laude). He received honors for his work in Litigation Skills II while attending the UM School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Prieto graduated from the United States Naval Academy Preparatory School and received a Congressional Nomination to attend the United States Naval Academy. Mr. Prieto is also a certified SCUBA diver and an avid sports fan.
